What I’m most likely to do is write a one-time plugin that hooks into Achievements and does this for you; the code would be quite messy to put into the Achievements core for a one-time use.

If you read above, I said that I expected BuddyPress 1.2.6 to come out by the end of this last week. It hasn’t happened yet, I spoke to John James Jacoby and we’re hoping for BuddyPress 1.2.6 before the end of this week.

As I have told several people, I hope to release a beta version of Achievements in the next two or three weeks, but that’s not a promise.
