Welcome Pack is a BuddyPress plugin that enhances the new user experience. When a user registers on your site, Welcome Pack lets you automatically send them a friend or group invitation, or a welcome message. You can also customise the default emails sent by BuddyPress to ensure that they match the brand and tone of your site.

Installation
Either install the plugin from within the “Plugins > Add New” section of your WordPress Administration pages, or download directly from WordPress.org.
Configuration
After enabling the plugin, the settings can be accessed from under the “BuddyPress” menu in the WordPress Administration pages.

Hey Paul,
We have a fairly large members base and would love to use your plugin. However when I activate it and go to the settings it crashes my browser. I think this may have something to do with the plugin loading all the members into the friends options.
Any idea on how to fix? Thanks

Short of replacing that drop-down box with a text box to write the user’s name in (not something I’m convinced about), I can’t immediately think of a way to handle it. It would be more likely to white screen your PHP install or sit your browser continually loading the page, rather than crashing it (but who knows!).
How large is “fairly large”? Email me if you don’t want to share the number publicly.
